Do you intend to treat your online business like a traditional business?  As we start to build an online business, we become aware that there is a certain specific set of rules that you need to follow with an online business.

Perhaps one of the important rules of success for an online business is to treat your online business, like a traditional business.

Ask yourself some questions to check if you are treating your online business like a traditional business.

1. Do you work on your online business every day?
2. Do you put a similar amount of effort into your online business, that you would have put into a traditional business?
3. Are you investing resources such as time and money into your business, to give your business a chance to grow?
4. Have you created a plan?  Do you know what you want to achieve with your online business?
5. What are your timelines?  In how many months would you like your business to break even?  In how many months would you like your business to show a profit?
6. What are you going to do in order to turn a profit from your online business?

 Minimal Work = Minimal Pay

Just because you are working online, does not mean that you can just do the minimum and still earn good money.  Like any traditional business, you need to put in the work, time and effort, in order to achieve the results.  I have noticed some people complaining that they have been with the program for a year, and yet they are making very little money.  What is wrong? they ask.

Some internet marketers would log in once a week and put in half an hour.  If you did half an hour a week in your regular job, would you even still have a job?  In certain ways working on the internet is very similar to the traditional way of working, or working in a brick and mortar establishment. 

For example, you are working as an affiliate marketer on the internet.  That does not mean that you don't have to show up at work.  It does mean that you have total flexibility with regards to when you work.  It even has total flexibility built-in for the number of hours your work.  You just need to remember that the more you work, the more you can potentially earn, and the less you work, the smaller your paycheck tends to get.
